28 Þund
Þund is a river. A mythological river. One of many many in Norse mythology. Can you imagine a river flowing towards the ocean, becoming one with it. Then water evaporates from the ocean-surface, forms clouds, which move with the wind. Hitting mountains they become rain or snow. Brooks come into being, and also ground-water-beds are formed in the earth. Nourishing all life. Brooks flow down mountain-slopes, forming rivers, which eventually flow towards the ocean. What a beautiful cycle as symbolic language for our evolution! We transcend, imbibe correlation and knowledge, return to the world of thoughts and actions.
Dharma is that which upholds. Cycles are really nourishing and upholding all life. And we should know the purpose and goal of life: evolution towards perfection, enlightenment.
