Mjöllnir always returns to us –  learn how to wield Mjöllnir.

-What are tröll?
-They are our unseen ignorance, of which we must rid ourselves.

Note: There is huge functional difference between tröll, þursar, and jötnar.
No way can they be translated into giants – They might not even be big at all!

Tröll are our ignorance – (unseen, so we know not of them)

þurs an old, now useless, evolutionary state of a man – (that we know, when we become purer)

jötnar colossal eaters of our surplus rubbish – recycling of “stuff” – (very useful)

We should understand the meaning contained in terms, concepts, epithets, names.
That is the key to understanding the function and role of each topic in the myths.

avidya अविद्य  ignorance, (a-vid = not-wit)  – Even worse: we see that not !
maayaa माया  what is not but seems to be, imagination, thought to be but is not  –   note that maayaa is nothing, only refers to our “not seeing Truth”.
The cause of this blindness (not seeing Truth) is avidiya अविद्य
A dense maayaa  माया  causes, that aatman आत्मन्, my real self, appears to me as jííva जीव individual soul.

In other words: individuality overshadows our true Self, pure consciousness, when we live in ignorance.
Tröll are our ignorance.
We do not see our ignorance due to our ignorance.
This is our terrible blindness, this “not to see” how our path of spiritual progress is waiting for us. We do not even know that there is a spiritual life, a spiritual path, a goal of enlightenment. We shall have to batter away our tröll, ignorance.

We shall learn how to wield Mjöllnir, so we can get rid of ignorance, let in the rays of Goddess Sun, Sól, the rays of sun of enlightenment, into our lives.

-Where and how do we learn how to handle Mjöllnir?
-The only true way to wield Mjöllnir:
We learn to nýsa niður. Thereby imbibe fimbulrúnir. This is skill in action in the world of men. Endless miracles we shall perform for the good of all.

The trouble about our ignorance, ósvinna, is, that we do not see it. It is of the same nature as is brain-washing. We have no idea of the blinding effects of ignorance. We think we are normal, but the truth is that we are not,  —   i.e. not until we become enlightened.

Óðsmál is given to us to make us aware of this.

As long as we are not perfectly pure and stainless, stress-less, we cannot bear the name “man”. Only by purifying ourselves  —  and that we do by nýsa niður, transcend —  can we see what we should have been aiming at all our life-spans.
