Not only yule, winter-solstice, and summer-solstice are worth a höfuðblót (höfuð-blót, main-blót), but also equinoxes.
Funnily enough, Miriam/Maria mother to Jesus yule-baby, is said to be spring (9 months before yule, she is fertile), and mother of John the Baptist to be (the infertile) autumn, our Ellisif, John being a summer-solstice figure.
