17 Sól and Nanna
Sun is a goddess. We here in the North love her. She is a feminine power here. And the Germans also address her as a female power. Why would that be, as so many have the sun masculine? Nanna is a moon-goddess when Baldur is the sun of enlightenment. Then Sun is a masculine deity, and Moon, Máni, a female deity. Myths often pair powers like this, as life in the world encompassed their togetherness.
Look at all these horses who pull the wagons of the sky-deities over the horizon, these powerful steeds in myths. They are winged and air-born.
But remember that our vehicle Sleipnir carries us into the realm of ginnungagap, where everything is, yet, in here only calmness prevails and perfect balance. Sæla of sun is pure bliss. We are born to find the sun of enlightenment within. Isn’t this a beautifully worthy life-purpose?
